Springfield, IL (Sherman, IL)
In January this year, I booked a room for a boudoir session at the cutest bed & breakfast in Sherman, IL, just on the edge of Springfield. The couple who owns it is very friendly, and accommodated all my needs and more.
The historical farmhouse dates back to 1871, and is located on historic route 66. The home was originally built for the family or Cornelius Flagg, who was one of four men who founded the town of Sherman. They were responsible for bringing the railroad to Springfield.
The lower level of the farm house have beautiful common areas, including a living room, sitting room, formal dining room, and kitchen. The owners have done extensive research and located time period pieces that make the experience authentic.
The upstairs has five bedrooms, all with their own, private bathrooms. They have amazing amazing natural light and they are PERFECT for getting ready photos for a wedding party. You'd have to try to get back photos with all of the effort the couple have put into the space.
The bathrooms are clean, and each bedroom has it's own, so you don't even have to share ;)
(I unfortunately didn't get pictures of all five, but here are three of them.)
They have the CUTEST little dog that loves attention from guests. He followed me around while I was taking pictures, and I loved the company. The hosts have thought of everything, right down to the mints on the side table.
If you are getting married in the Springfield, IL area, or even if you are just visiting, this is the perfect place to stay! They have done small weddings, hosted wedding guests, and been home base for the bridal party as they get ready. It's beautiful and affordable! I plan on taking my family just a short, family weekend out of the house.
If you are interested in contacting them, you can do that using the information below, and you can even book on their website. Oh, and make sure you tell them I sent you. ;) Enjoy!
